Creation of a Memorial of The Victims of The Communist Regime in Plovdiv, Bulgaria

In the building on Stefan Stambolov Square #1, Plovdiv, Bulgaria, where the present office of the Municipality of Plovdiv is situated, during the period between 1944 and 1955 was occupied by the District militia, including detention places of "State security" - the Bulgarian equivalent of KGB and STASI. There are citizens of Plovdiv, who are still alive, who had been tortured severely there. A few murders have been committed there. 

After 1990 the basements are used as a stuff warehouse. We believe, that the basement can be used as a permanent exposition of the methods of the communist violence against Bulgarians. The place is quite authentic and therefore suitable. 

Foundation Toross - Vit - Plovdiv has communicated with the local authorities in vain. The mayor Ivan Totev demonstrates total neglection, even though, he is a member of a party, which claims to be right - winged and a member of EPP. 

We would like to ask for your help and join forces to convince the mayor and the party GERB (Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria) to stop with their neglection.
